Monday
It’s NAIDOC Week! Visited 3 preschools to share my book and share some Dharug language words with the kids.
Miss 8 came along because it’s school holidays. Was such a great morning! At one preschool the kids made me a bracelet and a card – it was so very sweet!
Afterwards, we went and had lunch at a local shopping centre and found an activity set up for NAIDOC week where Miss 8 painted rocks and had a sea turtle painted on her hand.
Tuesday
Admin morning after dropping Mister 5 to preschool – catching up on emails and messages.
Not feeling well.
Spent time with Miss 8 in the afternoon – painting outside, tried making some watery paint colour from flowers – very light colour, may need to try some different methods next time.

Wednesday
NAIDOC week community event – such a great day. Dancers, netball, sausage sizzle, bush foods, stalls, art activities for the kids, freebies, and a whole lot of fun. Catch ups with some familiar faces, most specially an old school friend I hadn’t seen since high school!
Sent out July’s creative life interview with
. Check out the interview via the link below!I’ve actually had an opening for the August creative life interview spot, so reach out ASAP if you’d like to participate and your interview will feature next month.
Wrap up
Book reading at local bookstore Umina Beach Book Nook at the end of the week – was wonderful and was a great opportunity to properly chat with kids and parents and grandparents in such an intimate setting. I’m excited to go back again for another book reading next month!

Your turn
How’s YOUR week been?
I acknowledge the Darkinjung people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I am writing from today. I walk, talk, write, and create with respect on this land, and I acknowledge the enduring connection the Darkinjung people have with this Country; I thank them for their care of this Country, and I pay respects to the Elders past and present, and extend that respect to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people here reading or listening.
As usual, practicing German takes most of my time every week. Like last week, i worked on some of my painting ideas, plus on my second piece of gifts (I'd prepared two drafts to gift one of our friends. One is finished, the other still in progress).
