"My current definition of a creative life would be to have work (and a life) that leaves me with enough energy and resources to tinker on my made up stories regularly but at my own pace"
This is heartwarming. I am trying to set up a habit of waking early in the morning before my whole family. It was a big challenge as I am not a morning person. Still, it's good to see it works.
Noone is more surprised than me that early mornings have became a thing I look forward to! I still struggle to go to bed early so sometimes crash after too many in a row but they are often my favourite part of the day. And my critical, overthinking brain sleeps in so I get way more done then too…
I've gone through stages in the past where I've been an early riser and managed some writing while the rest of the house is still asleep, but it's not my current reality 😅 Maybe I'll get back there again one day as it is a great way to get some work done without distraction.
Enjoyed this interview, thanks for sharing. I think for most creatives its a constant juggle but a good idea to carve out creative time esp first thing in the morning which i do too when i can

I need to check out Cassy's books!

That's a good point. The few times I have tried it out, I have felt more relaxed and able to write without that inner critic around. ❤️

It's also not my current reality! I've only tried it for few days XD

Thanks for reading, Gemma! It really is a constant juggle, but so worth it to find the time when we can <3
